Q: What is the deal exactly, with the Olson Team?
A: We are fully licensed REALTORS® that offer the same services as a traditional Agent but for a much lower commission. We use the MLS® Service and all of the top internet sites for all of our listings, we market your home on social media, we place a sign on your property ( if it's allowed ), we show the property, hold open houses, assist you through all the negotiations, and handle all of the conveyancing ensuring a successful closing.

Q: What is the commission rate?
A: We charge 2% of the sale price of your home and split it with the Buyer’s Agent. We retain 1% for ourselves and pay the Buyers Agent 1%

Q: Are your listings on MLS®, REALTOR.CA and REW?
A: Yes. Plus, thousands of other websites. Your home will be on every website around the world that has the MLS® data.

Q: Are there any hidden fees?
No. We've been completely transparent with our flexible commission plans.

Q: What if a buyer has their own agent? Do I have to pay them?
A: No. We split the commission with them and give them half of it.

Q: Do other agents purposely avoid your listings because the commission they get is lower?
A: We have no way of knowing for sure, but we don't think so! Our listings are shown and sold by other Agents all the time, and within market values of other similar homes, and within the typical average length of time of other homes. But also, Agents are obligated to assist their clients in purchasing whatever home their client would like buy, regardless of how much the commission is. Our listings are displayed everywhere that a Buyer would look. All of our listings are on the MLS® system and all of the top internet sites, have professional photographs, a yard sign and we hold open houses regularly. If a Buyer is looking for a home in your neighborhood, they are going to know yours is for sale and want to see it.

Q: People and other agents have told me that if I list with the 2 Percent Realty, Agents from other companies will not show my home. Is that true?
A: Prior to the Internet, that might have been true. But today, its just a myth that some Agents, the unethical ones, will say to try and discredit our business model, and discourage you from hiring us instead of them at their higher commission rate. In the old days, the Agents used to control the MLS® Listings, and Buyers used to have to contact an Agent to find out what was for sale. The Agent would select the homes the Agent wanted the Buyer to see, and might ignore the ones offering a lower commission. But this is simply not the way it happens anymore. It's no longer up to the Agent what homes their client’s see and buy. Nowadays with the Internet, Buyers are in much more control and doing all of their own home searching, and selecting the homes that they want to see and buy, and the Agent is more of a facilitator now.
